new wiper fitted (towbar purchased "just in case"!)
sunroof taped closed to prevent leakage
brakes fiddled with to try to reduce rubbing

driven to sheffield with clutch slipping and air intakes taped up to prevent to much clutch dust coming in!
an "interesting" extra passenger discovered in a nest behind the battery!
gearbox removed, cleaned, regreased and clutch fitted
new rear brake housings found (scrap yard in essex) and bodged to fit with some bolts
new front discs and pads
brakes bled
welding done on sills
oil changed
new air filter fitted
new horn button fitted in the form of a doorbell push
rear seats + seatbelts removed
exhaust patched up



MOT passed!
taken (light) off roading in the peak district
all interior trim removed
dodgy lightbulbs replaced
temperature guage fixed

driven to devon
roofrack welded up and bolted on (through the roof!)
new stereo and second set of speakers fitted (only place available - underneath the seats!)
turns out spare wheel is too small
bonnet release catch removed and replaced with rally style split pins
driven to Hampshire
fan override switch fitted
wobbly wing mirror fixed
snorkel fitted (made of drainpipe)
air intake permanently switched to cold air (thermostat broken)
stickers added


driven to sheffield
used for commuting for a while to doncaster
driven to the lake district (stalling a little at speed on the way - had to rest on hard shoulder)
5mm of steel plate welded onto sump guard (sprayed 'John Deer' green)
fuel mixture adjusted
exhaust repatched with a layer of tin, exhaust putty and fencing wire


taken offroading round a muddy field by drunken hooligans (us)
driven to Hampshire - stalling very badly at speed, needing time to recover (7 hour journey)
permanent switch to cold air replaced with manual switch (using bike innertube, brake cable, saddle quick relase, and a clothes peg) - it turns out it might have been useful!?
driven to sheffield - stalling very badly at speed stopped at every other services on the way (6.5 hour journey)
replaced oil and filter
new fuel filter
new spark plugs
new high tension leads
new dizzy cap and rotor
prize open vacuum advance unit and replace broken diaphragm with bike inner tube
strip and clean carb and all injectors
add more stickers
driven to hampshire - beautiful journey running v. sweet, no stalling! (3.5 hours)
two more trips hampshire to sheffield and two to worcester
driven to devon
fully loaded up with fuel, water and kit for a test journey
driven for 10 miles, before a suspect wobbling feeling - wheel bearing found loose
wheel bearing ordered (£100!!!) and fitted
driven for 40 miles, suspect wobbling still there (£100 well spent!)
